The architectural narrative of this house unifies the traditional and contemporary styles of that period. A central courtyard and the seamless flow of spaces around it accentuate the age-old way of planning. The use of stone characterizes the boldness that binds the project as a unique one and maintains a cool environment inside through all the seasons. The living spaces, the outhouse, and the pool made out of a quarry merge as a single entity. Over two decades, the Thottumkal House has grown enhancing its charm and making it hard to define the edge between the old and new.
