Unfolding tranquillity

As with every project that comes our way, this residence for our client encapsulates luxury and simple details. Perched on an elevated site in a village setting, surrounded by hills, overlooking green, flowing streams and fields, the design takes advantage of the surrounding landscapes and sights. The heart of the residence includes spaces such as living, sit-out, and family living which overlooks the hills, and the green pulled inside as a landscaped court provides views from the dining. A water body on the site acts as a focal point that draws the attention of anyone visiting this house and paints a picture of serenity. The sit-out is a few steps up from the porch and opens to the living and family living stretch with dining on the side. The house comprises of 5 bedrooms, other functional spaces such as the study, kitchen, and a home theatre which makes it distinct from other projects. The design consists of two main elements that define the character. The full-height open windows among the main walls fold in and out, and the roof with extended eaves, which visually float. A neutral material palette with a predominant use of wood and metal can be noticed throughout its interiors. The finishes are modern, and the house has minimal decorative elements besides a few paintings in each room, hence staying true to the materials used. The neutrality enhances the greenery and merges the interior with the exterior. The floor plan and its spaces are arranged to achieve natural light and ventilation as well as establish a relation to the courtyard and the surroundings. Apart from the surrounding landscapes, plants and trees planted in the garden space help reduce the direct heat. Just as the interiors are meticulously detailed, the surroundings are defined with hard and soft scapes, indicating a sheer interest in emphasizing every part of the site
