The functional requirement of the project was to create spaces focussed on traditional design elements of Kerala. Therefore, it feels as an extension of your home. The need was fulfilled by providing a central courtyard and a verandah all around on both levels connecting the functional spaces.

The project plan picks up the soul of a conventional Kerala home where the courtyard acts as the core of the building and the associated functions around it. The feeling of openness fills the interiors with the implementation of the program. A sense of green seeps through the central court and wide peripheral openings.

The palette of material remains simple with white walls and Mangalore roof tiles peppered with wood interiors and tiled flooring.

The essence of the project is to extend the primary design elements of Kerala into a commercial space.
